Сторінка/Page namespace missing subpages level, currently flat[ред.]

@Madvin, Artem.komisarenko, Arxivist, Pavlo Shevelo: Madvin was asking for a file move at Commons, and the rule for Wikisource moves is that where there is work transcribed to decline, or to work with the community to get the Індекс:/Сторінка: (Index/Page) namespace pages migrated at the same time. As I have crosswiki rights and broad Wikisource experience I went to do those moves. I find that your Сторінка: (Page:) namespace is not set up as having subpages (unlike other WSes), and this makes all the page moves and maintenance burdensome.

To make life easier I have submitted at Phabricator ticket to have the requisite maintenance undertaken. phab:T255930

Thank you! After that ticket is resolved, will all related WS pages be renamed automatically when renaming a file on Commons? Or maybe I need to ask for file mover rights on Commons so I can do all the work myself? I asked for a number or renames last years, all those files were renamed, and I renamed related WS pages manually afterwards. --Madvin (обговорення) 12:42, 21 червня 2020 (UTC)[відповісти]
Nothing automatic. What it allows administrators to do is to create a false root page, then move the root and 100 subsidiary pages (and repeat as necessary). Generally at enWS, we don't fuss the name mistakes, we live with those errors, but I am not here to tell the community what to do here. In ukWS, the often problem is a mix of latin and cyrillic letters which look identically — that prevents search from working properly, also I am trying to rename files where author surnames are incorrect, if only a small number of pages was transcribed.--Madvin (обговорення) 16:00, 21 червня 2020 (UTC)[відповісти]
